Is this affiliated with the Goethe-Institut?

No. GoethePrep is an independent study tool. Exam formats are modelled on official Goethe-Zertifikat structures, but we are not endorsed by the Goethe-Institut.

Which levels does the app cover?

All six Goethe-Zertifikat levels: A1, A2, B1, B2, C1, and C2. Pick your level inside the app and get practice exams tailored to that level's format and difficulty.

How many practice exams are included?

Seven full-length practice exams per level, each scored out of 100 points — covering Lesen, Hören, Schreiben, and Sprechen in the official format.

How does the AI writing correction work?

In the Schreiben section, you write your answers freely in German. The app highlights grammar errors, suggests better vocabulary, and gives you a score estimate — so you improve with every attempt.

What score do I need to pass the real exam?

You need at least 60 out of 100 points overall to pass most Goethe-Zertifikat levels. Some levels also have minimum thresholds in Schreiben and Sprechen.

Is the app available on Android?

GoethePrep is currently available for iPhone and iPad only via the App Store. An Android version is not planned at this time.

Is it free?

The first full exam is free. A subscription unlocks all 7 exams, quick drills, AI writing feedback, and detailed progress stats.
